TK-709 is an antique Clinton Wall half trunk. I would estimate the date of this
trunk to be 1890, based on the dates on the hardware.
This antique trunk has a flat profile that, when opened, would set nicely against
the wall or end of the bed. It also has the original tray and working key. The
wall hinges on either side have the manufacturer and the patent date. Both
read "Clinton Wall Trunk Mfg. Co. Clinton, Mass Pat. Feb. 14, 1890". They also
have "2L" or "2R" to mark the left and right hinges. The trunk has been
stained a nice warm oak color on the inside and outside. The border is original
and was left in place during restoration.
This antique trunk measures 22" L x 17" D x 19 1/2" H.
